Stage Updates

StageUpdate
Spring StadiumThe Arches have been removed on the Hazards Off form. An Alternate version of the Hazards Off form is now available where the center platform moves like Smashville. The vertical blast zone distance matches Final Destination.
ColiseumTransformations still occur on the Hazards Off form. Barrier Form walls have been added to the Hazards Off form. There are now more possible transformations, including a Battlefield layout, A Small-Battlefield layout, and a Pyrosphere layout. Characters from various Fire Emblem games will appear in the background of this stage on Barrier Forms.
Big BlueOnly the Normal Forms of this stage have a moving background
Palutena's TempleThis stage Normal Form is just the piece in front of the Palutena statue (the part used in Omega and Battlefield Forms). It's Normal form has a 3-platform Battlefield-style layout, but instead of standard platforms, they are the clouds from Skyworld.
Green GreensAn alternate form is now available where the floating sides of the stage are now in-line with the main stage. Unbreakable blocks create a flat in-line bridge to the sides sections.
PyrosphereRidley does not appear as a boss on the stage anymore
Kalos Pokémon LeagueThis stage is unique in that it has a walled base, which generally makes recovery to the stage more difficult because players can't be protected under the stage. It also allows for wall-jumping. Therefore, an Alternate Form is now available for the following platform layouts, where each Alternate Form uses the same walled base stage that the Normal Form has: Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Omega, Big Battlefield, Big Omega, Pyrosphere. The blast zone distances of these alt forms will match the corresponding stage.
BattlefieldAn Alternate form is now available for Melee's Battlefield.
Final DestinationAn Alternate form is now available for Melee's Final Destination
Great Plateau TowerThe hazards off form of this stage always has the single platform layout, without the breakable piece. An alternate version of Hazards Off is available where the platform moves gently up and down
Wii Fit StudioThe Hazards Off variant has Barriers on the sides and the mirror is always removed. The platforms still transition to random variants.
Yggdrasil's AltarThe Hazards off version of this stage just very slowly circles around the Yggdrasil Tree from a distance with a steady camera angle. It starts already in the air. The horizontal blast zone distances match Battlefield.
Hollow BastionThe Hazards off version of this stage does not have a moving background, it just stays in front of the heart shaped key thing part of the tower. An Alternate version of the Hazards Off form is now available where the center platform moves like Smashville
Wily CastleThe Hazards off version of this stage still has the random platforms appear. The blast zone distances match Battlefield.
Windy Hill ZoneBattlefield, Small Battlefield, Omega, and Barrier forms have the tall grass removed
Barrier Form StagesThe vertical blast zone distance will match Battlefield if a 3-platform layout is being used. Otherwise, the vertical blast zone distance will match Final Destination. The barriers on these stages will emit a pulse attack if two characters remain in close proximity to the wall (as a backup safeguard to prevent infinite combos against the wall). Some Barrier Forms will be entirely new compared to other forms of the stage. For example, Eden's Barrier Form takes place in The Narthex and Halo's Barrier Form takes place in Installation 04's control room.

Pokémon Stadium 2 Updates

Pokémon Stadium 2 now has 18 possible transformations, one for each Pokémon Type. All transformations except the Normal Type transformation are new. The stage always starts on Normal type, but no longer has to transform back to Normal type in between other types. Each transformation lasts 50 seconds and the stage will take 10 seconds to transform to the next type. The color of the stadium floor will change to match the color theme of the transformation type.

TypeTransformation
NormalA 2-Platform Small Battlefield layout. The current Normal Form of the stage. This is always the starting layout of the stage.
FireA 2-Platform Small Battlefield layout. The platforms gently move up and down (similar to Spear Pillar).
PsychicA 2-Platform Small Battlefield layout. The platforms gently move left and right, meeting at the center of the stage and then moving out in synchronization.
FightingA 3-Platform Battlefield layout.
GhostA 3-Platform Battlefield layout. The platforms may individually appear and disappear.
RockA 3-Platform layout. The platforms are in a row.
SteelA 1-platform layout. The platform moves in a circular motion (like a gear) in the center of the stage.
DragonA 1-platform layout. The platform moves horizontally across the stage (similar to Smashville).
FairyA 1-platform layout. The platform moves vertically in the center of the stage.
IceA 1-platform layout. The platform is static in the center of the stage. The sides of the stage have Ice waterfalls which create a wall-jumpable surface.
PoisonA 0-Platform Final Destination Layout.
GroundA 0-Platform Final Destination Layout, with sand-waterfalls flowing off the sides of the stage that create a wall-jumpable surface.
BugA 4-Platform Pyrosphere layout.
DarkA 4-Platform Wario-Ware Inc layout.
GrassA 4-Platform layout. Similar to a Battlefield layout, but the top platform has been split into 2 smaller platforms.
WaterA 4-Platform layout. 2 platforms are positioned similarly to the platforms from the Water Transformation of Pokémon Stadium 1, and then 2 more are placed at similar heights on the other side of the stage.
ElectricThis transformation has randomly moving and spawning platforms, in a manner similar to Wily Castle.
FlyingThis transformation has randomly spawning Cloud platforms. These platforms move slower than the platforms in the Electric transformation and only move horizontally. It also has a recovery Cloud platform under each side of the stage (like the Battlefield / Spring Stadium / Yggdrasil's Altar item platforms).

Notes

12 of the new Versus Stages are released as DLC with the associated DLC Fighter.
