Super Smash Bros 6: The Future of Smash
This is a fan-made proposal for Smash 6 (SSB6), the sequel to Super Smash Bros Ultimate and the next entry in the Super Smash Bros franchise for the Nintendo Switch 2. Throughout these docs, the game will be referenced as Smash 6 / SSB6. This documentation website details the proposed changes in the transition from SSBU to SSB6.

What This Proposal Covers
This proposal covers absolutely everything:
- Battle Updates — New game modes including King of the Hill, Tag-Team 3v3 with optional Tag-In and Assists mechanics, plus a Smash Meter overhaul and Overdrive mechanic
- Challenge Modes — Path of Spirits, All-Star Mode, Boss Rush, and more
- Custom Content — Event Match Builder, Stage Builder improvements, Break the Targets, and more
- Adventure Mode — A remaster of the Subspace Emissary from Brawl and plans for a brand new adventure
- Training — Interactive tutorial mode and training mode updates
- Menu — Character select screen, stage select screen, gallery mode, and game-end menu improvements
- Replays — Replay fast-forward, replay takeover, and replay management improvements
- Controls — Updated default button mapping and quality of life improvements
- Online — Rollback netcode, a traditional ranked ladder replacing GSP, fixed-ruleset quickplay playlists, remote doubles partner, casual and ranked playlists
- Fighter Updates — Moveset and balance changes for all returning fighters
- Battle Assets — New playable fighters, stages, items, spirits, songs, assist fighters, Poké Ball Pokémon, bosses
- Related Media — Amiibo support and a Lite Edition
- DLC Notes — A proposed quarterly DLC schedule covering playable fighters, assist fighters, and Mii costumes
