Super Smash Bros 6 Global Fighter Updates
The following are the Global Fighter Changes made in the transition from Ultimate to Smash 6:
Perfect Shield Changes
The Perfect Shield (parry) window is now only present when dropping a Power Shield. This puts more importance on the new Power Shield mechanic, lessens the frequency of Perfect Shield occurring, and requires more thought behind when to go for the Perfect Shield since it costs meter.
Phantom Footstool Changes
Removed the intangibility of a Phantom Footstool. The intangibility allowed some attacks to be dodged just by spamming the jump button.
Grab Pummels
All grab pummel attacks now have 3 Frames of Startup. This is to help with the Rollback netcode changes.
Neutral Taunt
Pressing Neutral Taunt will have the character perform one of their possible Taunts at random. Depending on controller button layout, a player may only have Neutral Taunt mapped. So this let's them see all possible taunts.
Notes
All fighters will also have access to the new mechanics discussed in the Battle Updates section, including Tag-Ins, Calling Assists, and Overdrive.
Overall, the existing global mechanics from Ultimate remain mostly unchanged.
