Subspace Emissary Remake

The Adventure Mode in Smash 6 is a Remake of Subspace Emissary, with new levels and scenes added that feature Fighters added after Brawl. For levels returning from the original Subspace Emissary, the levels are more condensed than they were in Brawl and many platforming sections have been removed. Some cutscenes may also be altered to accommodate the changes.

Changes
  • The sticker mechanic is no longer present in this mode.
  • Skyworld: The platforming segments have been removed, and there is just the single fixed location battle with Pit
  • Sea of Clouds: The platforming segments have been removed, and there is now a fixed location battle at the Halberd's main deck / bridge area
  • The Jungle: A single fixed location battle against some of Bowser's minions near the banana cart
  • The Plain: Only the final segment of this mission is retained (the part with the moving platform and it's battles)
  • The Lake: The platforming segments after Fox joins, except for the last one, have been removed
  • The Ruined Zoo: Only the first platforming segment is retained
  • The Battlefield Fortress: The platforming segments inside the fortress have been removed, the sections between the first battle with Meta Knight and Ike joining have been removed
  • The Forest: Only the first platforming segment is retained
  • The Research Facility I: The platforming segment after obtaining Pikachu has been simplified
  • The Path to the Ruins: The volcanic platforming section has been removed
  • The Ruins: The section of this mission prior to the Ivysaur cutscene has been removed
  • The Swamp: The section prior to Falco joining has been removed
  • The Research Facility II: The section prior to the Power Suit is removed, and the section after has been shortened/simplified
  • The Glacial Peak: Some platforming sections have been shortened / removed
  • Battleship Halberd Exterior: Some of the platforming sections have been removed
  • The Subspace Bomb Factory I: Only the final cutscene of this mission has been retained
  • The Subspace Bomb Factory II: The sections prior to DK's team joining is removed
  • The "Great Maze" level has been removed

These changes were simply looking at a 1-to-1 remaster of The Subspace Emissary. Depending on where / how the additional Fighters, Bosses, and levels are placed in the Remake, the changes to existing levels could be more significant.

Why It Matters

Smash fans love the Subspace Emissary and it truly is an incredible experience. This updates it to use the modern Smash Bros engine, enhanced visuals, and allows more characters to be part of the Adventure.
